Sweetwater on Hollywood Palace doing Motherless Child

Such a tragic story. The band that almost was- Sweetwater.
Nancy Nevins had a beautiful voice.

Perfect Beach Weather According to Me

Just got home from the beach. Okay well not really, I've probably been home for like forty five minutes. I took a nice shower, ate a pear, tidied my room up and finally sat down to write this post. I had to, when we came out of the water the clouds were moving in and I do mean gray clouds. Now this moves me along to talking about perfect beach weather.

I'm guessing that to most people perfect beach weather is when the sun is out in all her glory and the sky is this beautiful shade of blue and the clouds are white. It's pretty hot outside but the humidity makes it feel hotter. When you arrive to the beach the sand white and the ocean water is just an awesome clear blue color. Then when you're ready and you step into the water it's cold. But that's alright you're going to jump in anyway and it isn't freezing cold. It's just right to make you cool up since it's so hot outside.

This is also perfect beach weather to me. But I am not done.
That's the way I love beach weather when I wake up and head out to the beach but I really love it when the dark clouds start to set it when it's time to get out the water and head home. I love it when it starts to get really dark and the winds start blowing. It feels refreshing and you can smell rain coming. Then when you finally get home you take a nice shower get out and it starts raining. It's perfect weather for watching an Oldie movie. Maybe something with Judy Garland, Clark Gable, Elizabeth Taylor. Perfect, perfect and some hot popcorn with a blanket. Then you fall asleep with the rain and thunder as your soundtrack.

Yes... doesn't that sound like perfect beach day weather?

Saw This and Just Had To Put It Up

Rape culture is telling girls and women to be careful about what you wear,

how you wear it, how you carry yourself, where you walk, when you walk there,

with whom you walk, whom you trust, what you do, where you do it,

with whom you do it, what you drink, how much you drink, whether you make eye contact,

if you’re alone, if you’re with a stranger, if you’re in a group, if you’re in a group of strangers,

if it’s dark, if the area is unfamiliar, if you’re carrying something, how you carry it,

what kind of shoes you’re wearing in case you have to run, what kind of purse you carry,

what jewelry you wear, what time it is, what street it is, what environment it is,

how many people you sleep with, what kind of people you sleep with, who your friends are,

to whom you give your number, who’s around when the delivery guy comes,

to get an apartment where you can see who’s at the door before they can see you,

to check before you open the door to the delivery guy, to own a dog or a dog-sound-making machine,

to get a roommate, to take self-defense, to always be alert always pay attention always watch your back always be aware of your surroundings

and never let your guard down for a moment lest you be sexually assaulted and if you are and didn’t follow all the rules it’s your fault.”

I Write Here More Often Than On Facebook

It's true. I really do write on here more often than I do on facebook. Which is nuts considering facebook is just a simple status but I only write a facebook status once in a blue moon. I'm not too sure why...
But anyways, I gave up on facebook for a while and I'm trying to force myself to write here more often. I'm not sure why, Hardly anyone I know, no let me rephrase that, NO ONE I know goes on this site. Which is quite sad. I think it's pretty awesome. Even if I don't come here that often. I at least try to make the effort to write here, well it's a tiny effort but it's effort nonetheless. So where should I start....
Hmm...

Okay 1st.
INGLOT.
If no one has been to Inglot or even checked out their website that needs to change. Like now, you hear me? Change that NOW! Inglot is AMAZING. It is INCREDIBLE. IT IS LIFE CHANGING. I know that seems a tad bit over dramatic (but if you really knew me that's normal)BUT Inglot has to be one of the best make-up brands out there and so affordable. I got a 10 eye-shadow palette for $50. At first that's going to seem Crazy, believe me I know. But each eye-shadow is insanely pigmented and at $50 for the 10 eye shadow palette that means each eye-shadow cost $5. For a make-up brand that's as awesome as Inglot that is super cheap. You just have to understand, you just press your finger on the eye shadow and you have great pigmentation on your finger- I'm serious, just touch it! It's incredible. They have one of the best eye shadow colors. I got red, yellow, orange, green! Try to go to a drugstore and find those colors. It's not easy! I should know I've tried. I also got this matte brown, a shimmery purple, blue, a champagne color and nude. I love all the colors I got and am eager to go back! I usually hate the mall. I mean it, I'm not big on the mall. Things are really way too over priced there. But I cannot wait to go back to Inglot, that's how much I love this store. I hope to buy 4 more colors or maybe 5. You just have to see Inglot to believe how life changing this store is. I am counting down the days until I go back... <3

Next, the thrift store. I love the thrift store. When I go I mainly buy books. Here are some I bought:

Thoughts to Share with a Wonderful Mother which I wasn't going to get but it felt wrong not to since I had the other books that are part of this collection (click the link to see what I mean)

All for $3 and less. If you love books you try your library for some or a thrift store. Those were and still are really the main ways I get my hands on books. I can't afford Barnes and Noble or borders all the time but when I can it's definitely a treat. Odd Girl Out is really an in depth look at the world of bullying for girls. It's not fiction, if you want to consider it a self- help book I guess you can but all I know it that it really helped me. I had no intention of finding this book, I guess in a way it found me. Here's a little story;
I was out of class on day and near this public library by my house and I was just looking at all these books on religion and self help was right next to it. I don't typically go to self-help books or anything close to it. The idea of self help books really just makes me laugh. Or at least it did. Well actually they still do. I can't take a book seriously if they have the picture of the author on the front cover. It just seems so fake. But Odd Girl Out didn't have a picture of the author on the cover. All it took was the name of the book to have me pull the book out and look at it. The cover was simple. It had the long name of the book, the author name and a picture of the side of girls' head. I opened the book and read the inside flap and it just drew me in. It read:

If your daughter has ever come home from school upset because her friends didn't walk her to lunch, if she has wanted to stay home or has run to her room in tears and won't tell you why, you may need this book. These may seem like minor problems- who cares about notes passed behind your back, or a nasty look, or a party you're not invited to- but they aren't, and they can have a lasting effect on a girl's self-esteem.

I was immediately drawn in. I don't have a daughter but I have seen bullying, I've been a bully and what most of my friends don't know is, I was bullied. I was able to relate to this book in so many ways. Most of the time this book spoke from girls perspective who were victims of bullying and how it affected them. It made me cringe. At times I was uncomfortable. It was difficult. I believe this generation is only finally beginning to see what bullying can do to a person. How they can destroy a life. This books hits the topic and it hits it full on. If you've ever been bullied, witnessed bullying or were (are) the bully this book is something that needs to be read. It's for people who thought bullying was nothing. This book will prove you wrong. Bullying is something. It can be everything to a girl. It can pull her up and give her the worst power or can obliterate her completely. If there's one book you have the need to read, it's this one.

Moving on, I mentioned that I also got some videotapes. They are

I had seen Breakfast at Tiffany's and Benny and Joon before and they are both ranked high in my favorite movie category. Johnny Depp was so lovely in Benny and Joon, you just have to see the movie to believe me! Especially if you love the golden age in hollywood and Buster Keaton you have to watch Benny and Joon. It is such a wonderful movie.

Breakfast at Tiffany's... what a movie! I love this movie so much, especially the end! I love Audrey Hepburn in this movie.

An Affair to Remember.. so rare does a movie contain such wit, such humor, joy and tragedy. This is definitely a must see movie. It nearly made me cry. You just have to see this movie, you really honestly do! Go find it and watch it now!

The only movie I have yet to see is Sabrina. I'm eager to watch it!!

I hope you guys have a great in-depth read, happy shopping and an amazing movie experince!
Later for now!
