It's My Party - The Chipettes on Alvin & the Chipmunks

I remember watching Alvin & the Chipmunks with my brother...
Oh those younger years!

Cry If I Want To

It's my party, and
I'll cry if I want to,
cry if I want to,
Cry if I want to.
You would cry too if it happened to you...

For some strange unknown reason I have this song stuck in my head and now I am listening to it.
I love this song and I remember first hearing it on Alvin and the Chipmunks when The Chipettes are singing it. I loved the song ever since.

Okay moving on,
I have quite a lot of things to write about.
First why my previous post was called "I Have One Ber-Nana Left". Well I was about to write on my blog and my sister was sitting next to me eating chopped up bananas with her ice cream. I forgot what I was about to do and suddenly she says "Wait, Roxy! I have one ber-nana left!" Instead os saying banana she said ber-nana. We thought it was so funny, don't you? No? Well I guess it was a had to be there moment...

Next the book review I plan to do is on a book called What I Saw and How I Lied by Judy Blundell. I really enjoyed reading this book that was set in post WWII.
A short summary-

When Evie's father returned home from World War II, the family fell back into its normal life pretty quickly. But Joe Spooner brought more back with him than just good war stories. When movie-star handsome Peter Coleridge, a young ex-GI who served in Joe's company in postwar Austria, shows up, Evie is suddenly caught in a complicated web of lies that she only slowly recognizes. She finds herself falling for Peter, ignoring the secrets that surround him . . . until a tragedy occurs that shatters her family and breaks her life in two.

As she begins to realize that almost everything she believed to be a truth was really a lie, Evie must get to the heart of the deceptions and choose between her loyalty to her parents and her feelings for the man she loves. Someone will have to be betrayed.

The question is . . . who?

Some pretty serious stuff, huh?

Now onto ELF. In a previous post about Inglot cosmetics I wrote how it would be difficult to return to Drugstore make-up after going to Inglot. Well ELF has changed my mind. Like any other cosmetic brand, ELF has it's pros and cons. A Con would definitely be how their brushes can break easily. But a pro is how great some of their eyeshadows can be. For example, the Punk Funk is awesome. I love the pink in it and the purple. They have great pigmentation as long as you have a primer for them. Which ELF also has though I have yet to try it. I hope to try it soon seeing that the Kmart by my house recently began selling ELF. I went on Sunday and they only had one left. I seriously don't know what's wrong with me that I didn't get it. It was as though I wasn't really there, how could I not be paying attention? I went back yesterday and it was of course gone! Lesson learned. I've been wanting to try the primer out for a while and it was right there yet I didn't get it. *Sigh* I guess it was meant for someone else. But next time I see it I will get it and let you know how it works. If you want to see the photos of the ELF Punk Funk and some awesome nail polishes I got just click here.

Well that's all for this post, I'll be back shortly with another post about my awesome Saturday!
Au revoir!

The Band Perry - If I Die Young

If I die young, bury me in satin
Lay me down on a, bed of roses
Sink me in the river, at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song

Uh oh, uh oh

Lord make me a rainbow, I'll shine down on my mother
She'll know I'm safe with you when she stands under my colors, oh and
Life ain't always what you think it ought to be, no
Ain't even grey, but she buries her baby

The sharp knife of a short life, well
I've had, just enough time

If I die young, bury me in satin
Lay me down on a, bed of roses
Sink me in the river, at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song

The sharp knife of a short life, well
I've had, just enough time

And I'll be wearing white, when I come into your kingdom
I'm as green as the ring on my little, cold finger, I've
Never known the lovin' of a man
But it sure felt nice when he was holding my hand, there's a
Boy here in town who says he'll love me forever,
Who would have thought forever could be severed by
The sharp knife of a short life, well,
I've had, just enough time

So put on your best boys and I'll wear my pearls
What I never did is done

A penny for my thoughts, oh no, I'll sell them for a dollar
They're worth so much more after I'm a goner
And maybe then you'll hear the words I been singin'
Funny when you're dead how people start listenin'

If I die young, bury me in satin
Lay me down on a, bed of roses
Sink me in the river, at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song

Uh oh (uh, oh)
The ballad of a dove (uh, oh)
Go with peace and love
Gather up your tears, keep 'em in your pocket
Save them for a time when you're really gonna need them, oh

The sharp knife of a short life, well
I've had, just enough time

So put on your best boys and I'll wear my pearls

Last Tweet

I was on Twitter just now and I was looking at the people who I was following and Elizabeth Taylor. I decided to go and look at her last tweet and another tweet that had no link, just her speaking, which probably is her real last tweet to the world. I read these and I can't help but wonder if she ever thought one of those would be her last tweet. If, when she wrote them, did she stop to think this may be the last thing I say to the world. And by to the world I mean the twitter-verse.
It's strange isn't? Thinking if this were your last tweet...

There could be so many last things. The very last words you write, the last interview you had, the last picture you take, the last clothes you wear, the last time you open your eyes. It's all so sad to think about and it can be scary. There's really no moral to this, just me thinking out loud here. I mean if you knew you were going to die the next day, what would be your last?

I'm the kind of person who doesn't like to write angry things on facebook or twitter. It just feels strange. I mean if you were to die and the last thing you wrote was something when you were mad, then people might think you had a bad last day and really, why leave the ones you love thinking you were upset that day.

It might hurt them more knowing you had a bad last day and if they could go back, they would try to make it better. In a way, it would probably leave them haunted. I would never want the people I love thinking what if or if I could have done that differently. I guess I'm starting to truly understand what it meant when James Dean said:

Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today.

Live every moment of every day of every hour, every minute, and every second. Put as much happiness you can in a second because you don't know if it might be your last.

And, and, and...
leave a nice quote on your account because it just might be the last thing people will know you say to them.

Standing Out In the Rain

Today it rained. For so long [okay maybe not so long more like a week] we were under gray clouds and the threat of rain. But it did not rain until today and boy, did it rain. And right now I just heard thunder. Nice...
Anyways, today was a creative day
I was playing with my make up and here are the results:

I call it My Imperfect Heart and you'll see why soon. This was actually really fun to do. I love pink and orange together. This orange was from Inglot, the pink from
The blue is also from Inglot. The mascara is Covergirl Lash Blast in black.

I actually prefer Carbon Black by L'oreal. Now you'll see why

Haha, my heart really is imperfect but I don't think it was so bad for a first try. My advice for anyone wanting to try this out is use a stencil, it'll make it so much more simpler, neater, and even looking. xP
You can see the Carbon Black mascara here from L'oreal. I love love love this mascara. I accidentally bought the one that wasn't waterproof but that's alright because it lasts a looooong time.

Okay now I'm going to log off because it's really starting to thunder a lot now! I'll leave you with one more picture and au revoir!!

I can't help it! So good night indeed but maybe I'll be back, haha...

I Forgot Where I Put My Memory Pills

Super short blog talking about another blog coming up! I feel so silly. The post prior to this was actually rather short because I'm just getting so tired right now. I'm going to go into more detail about ELF cosmetics, what book I'm going to review, and a little heart to heart.Oh and why my previous post is called I Have One Ber-Nana left! I'm so happy I started blogging. It's so fun! Okay, now I'm off to Dreamland! Au revoir!!

I Have One Ber-Nana Left

I just had an absolutely fantastic day. I got to see a friend I haven't seen since last year! Yay!! All I can think about is how much fun I had. Make-up galore! I'll post up a photo of the make-up I did on her eye and one that she did on herself. People should not look down on make-up that costs a dollar. You can find some pretty amazing stuff.
Anyways, I promised a photo of the Inglot purchase I recently made. Here's the photos! Swatches to come soon!!

Tell me you aren't absolutely flipping your lid over this? Is it not gorgeous? That yellow and red... The pigmentation is awesome. Touch and go, touch and go all the way.
Okay, moving on from this ELF.

If you're lucky enough to buy some ELF make-up you'll know how great this cosmetic brand actually is. ELF is super affordable. Prices start at $1.00. Like any other brand there are some pros and cons to it. Some products work fantastically others not so much but it really depends on the person using them. But at my friends' house she recently received some ELF make-up and holy moly canolli. The pigmentation is crazy.

ELF

This is one of the ELF eyeshadows my friend received. The eyeshadow is part of a collection called Brightening Eye Color. It comes with four different eye-shadow colors, a tiny mirror and small sponge brush. The only con to this is the mirror is so small, it's basically useless. But the pro is the pigmentation. The one pictured here is called Punk Funk and the pink is gorgeous. The pigmentation is amazing. The best part has to be that you get awesome pigmentation for only $1.00!

I'll be putting up more photos this week of make-up and a book review. Well that's pretty much it for now, off I go to the realm of dreams!! Good night!

Splendor in the Grass trailer (1961)

This is one of my absolute favorite film of all time. It's in the top 3 with Gone With The Wind and Roman Holiday. I love love love love this film. If you haven't seen it yet please stop reading this and find it. You simply must watch it! It's timeless. It's heartbreaking but it's life. Must see, must see.
Thank God for TCM.
Now I'll be watching it for the 5th or 6th time.
Good Night!
